Black Friday finds

This was the first Black Friday I spent shopping and I had so much fun. I spent the day with Ryan and his mom in Saratoga NY. We went to a mall; the cute shops along the Saratoga Main Street; and then to Lake George for some outlet shopping where they had an amazing LL Bean outlet.

My favorite finds were online though.

I had been waiting for this top to go on sale and J.Crew had an unprecedented 40% off your entire purchase for Black Friday. The top is cuter in person and I plan to wear it to my office holiday party next week, and maybe Christmas!

These sweater fleeces from LL Bean are really nice quality and a good fit – and I couldn’t resist the Buffalo Check pattern. I even talked my dad into buying one!

Ann Taylor had 50% off your entire purchase with no exclusions! I stocked up on cashmere turtlenecks which are my winter staple.

I remember a time when Uggs never went on sale. Well, these (the Cyd boot) were more than 50% off at Zappos. I’d been eyeing them, (I showed them to my husband who said they were HIDEOUS!) hoping for a sale. They came in the mail yesterday and I’m in love.

And last, but certainly not least, when you see a light up golden doodle – YOU BUY IT! Seriously, how cute is this??? (I found this at Michaels).

Antiquing

Ryan and I are in the process of looking for a house to buy, and I thought it would be fun to start looking at some furniture and get a feel for how we might want to decorate our future house. I’m also always looking for cool accents, especially something that you can’t find in mass retail.

When I was a kid, we had a country house in the Poconos, and my parents would drag me around for hours of antiquing (and here I am, years later wanting to do the same thing! I NEVER WOULD’VE THOUGHT!), so I suggested going there as a good start.

It was a nice drive, and we went to the very quaint town of Milford, PA. We didn’t buy anything, but the experience definitely gave us some good ideas for the future.  IMG_6083.JPG

It’s also a cute town to stop in for lunch.

I think one of my favorite things to do over the weekend is to explore – drive around, go to places we haven’t been (or return to places we haven’t been in a while), walk around, take pictures, get coffee, and feel like we had a little mini getaway. Looking at antiques gives these road trips more of a scavenger hunt/quest type feel.

It was a fun way to spend the day. We’re talking about trying out some auctions houses soon, which I’m VERY excited for. I’ll keep you posted.

Halloween

I wasn’t planning on celebrating this year, but got invited to a 1950s themed party, which seemed too fun to turn down.

I got a great vintage dress from Etsy, and plan to try to style my hair like the picture below.

I actually never would’ve thought of etsy to pick out a dress had my friend not suggested it.

They really have an amazing selection of reasonable vintage clothing.

I’m going to pair the dress with black gloves, and a vintage fur jacket. I’ll post a picture of the finished look. Now I just need to start working on my husband’s costume.

Is it Friday yet? Oh yes, yes it is.

This week has been a blur. I’ve been running around like an absolute maniac. Thankfully, my day ended at 1:00pm, when my coworker and our boss went out for a boozy lunch involving lots of pizza.

We got back to work at 4:30 pm, and by 6:00pm, we had already opened a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc.

And now I’m in sweats and watching Bad Moms, which will hopefully get better? Because I’m about 10 minutes in and I haven’t laughed once.

I’ve been saving decor ideas from instagram and here’s a few pictures I’m really loving.
